A global balanced unit trust portfolio that aims to provide investors with long-term capital growth and income through a diversified portfolio of offshore equities and fixed income securities. A minimum of 85% of the portfolio's assets will be invested offshore.
The unit trust portfolio is suitable for investors seeking offshore exposure to developed financial markets as part of their overall investment strategy, with maximum capital appreciation as their primary goal, and who do not wish to make complex asset allocation decisions between equities, cash and bonds in offshore markets. The portfolio is rand-denominated, which provides investors who may have utilised their full individual offshore allowance an opportunity to obtain additional exposure to international markets.
Diversification across asset classes, countries, regions and industry sectors minimises specific company and regional risks. Investors should have a high tolerance for short-term market volatility in order to achieve long-term objectives. The portfolio may be subject to currency fluctuations due to its offshore exposure.
